"I'd sell my soul for a doughnut" and a challenge to Stephen Colbert
Yeah I know "Simpson's did it" ... for those non internet geeks, people comment that on things that seemingly rip off The Simpsons. The title is a phrase used by Homer. He had actually already sold his soul for something equally done. Ergo. Vis a vis. Concordantly. I have no idea what I'm talking about.
That being said, any type of fried dough is basically amazing. Elephant ears, funnel cakes, and doughnuts are the varieties I am most familiar with. However, while elephant ears and funnel cakes are generally reserved for carnivals, circuses (circuii would be a fun plural), or ball games doughnuts are mare akin to an everyday possibility. You can buy them at the grocery or a bakery or, if you are lucky, at a Krispy Kreme store. I am not saying Krispy Kreme doughnuts are better than Dunkin' Donuts ... I am just saying that Krispy Kreme doughnuts are better than Dunkin' Donuts.
I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts so much that after running the Krispy Kreme Challenge ... I wanted a doughnut. (By the way, the KKC has its own wikipedia article now... big time) They are best hot and fresh out of the fryer, covered with that delicious glaze ... mouth watering goodness. I want to eat a whole dozen right now.
I don't care about the fat count, the calories, the fact that I am a giant pig. I want doughnuts ... I crave them. I will never turn one down. However, I don't want them filled with shit ... that ruins it for me. Come on filling .. helping or hurting? However, I will take basically any of the varieties of regular doughnuts.
In honor of Stephen Colbert I ask this question: Doughnuts .. a great food or the greatest food?
I would also like to take this moment to formally challenge Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report to the 2009 Krispy Kreme Challenge. If he is any kind of American, he will take me up on it. The e-mail is chris at arbonies dot com Mr. Colbert. I dare you.

I had a Fudge Covered donut from Dunkin' on the H-Bourough the other day... Horrible.
For the fudge glazed needs, nothing beats KK.
I love you.
