An amazing man

The person of the week this week passed away last week. He is relatively famous, but I had only heard about him a little before he passed away. I wish I had looked into this man earlier. His name is Randy Pausch and he deserves to be remembered for many things, mainly facing a terminal diagnoses publicly with humility, strength, and humor and for his "Last Lecture".

Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and one of the leading experts on virtual reality. He was chosen to be a part of the "Last Lecture" series, which had the speakers giving the lecture they would give if they knew they were about to die and it would be their last. For Pausch, due to cancer, this was literally true. His lecture, totally 76 minutes, is one of the better things I have heard about achieving goals, leadership, and growing up. What the best thing about it is the man was not trying to be a hero, gain money or fame ... he merely spoke from his heart. He later authored a book based on the speech at the request of others due to the message.
