How to become and "overnight" success in 25 years

I never was particularly fond of the Detroit Pistons. Probably for that reason I never cared about Chuancey Billups. I didn't dislike him, just didn't care. This article though, made me care a little more.

This article should be mandatory reading in high school locker rooms across the country. It should be read before every AAU basketball game and after every practice.

Beyond that it should be read by every young athlete. Hell, it should be read by every athlete. Actually, everyone should read it, young or old.

Not that Billups did anything amazing. The article just portrays what it takes to become an NBA All-Star: talent, hard work, maturity, sacrifice, and a little luck.

Too often people think they are entitled to things. You aren't entitled to anything. You can do everything right and end up in a bad situation. If you don't do everything right, you are nearly guaranteed to end up in a bad situation.

So today I rave on the components that get you far in life: hard work, maturity, sacrifice, and learning from your mistakes.

Amazing article.

God I loved that article. Funny coincidence, the night you posted this, I had just opened the link the the Chauncey piece (even though I didn't get to reading it until today).
