Why Nice Guys Should Finish First -- but Don't

The article is an interview with a historian and a psychiatrist about why the common saying "nice guys finish last" is a myth and why President Obama is rewriting how nice guys can finish first.

I do believe nice guys finish last. However, that is only when it comes to females. And that is only immature females. In the long run the best man wins. That is usually a strong, smart, and nice male.

In politics and business, it is usually considered a strong, goal oriented, and mean male finishes first. While that may seem the case, nice guys do actually finish first. In order to succeed anywhere ... business, politics, at a fish fry, etc. ... you need the ability to network and make connections in order to survive and advance. Nice people are able to do that. Mean people are able to put anything behind making advances or dollars, but in the long run they eventually falter.

So nice guys win at life, while mean guys win the the short term.

In conclusion, be yourself and never sell that out in order to get ahead. You won't win out.
