I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you, but I get the feeling that you don't like it

Remember the good old days of school cafeterias? Where if you had a pack of Gushers and good bartering skills you could end up with two lunches? Those days still exist.

I never was one to trade items from my lunch to get other tasty treats. Mainly because I bought my lunch nearly every day with my lunch ticket. Also, if I did bring my lunch I was more than likely to have a Little Debbie Lite, a fruit roll-up made out of real fruit, a juicy juice box, an apple, and a ham sandwich. Oh and I may have been lucky enough to score some celery and peanut butter. Not exactly trading materials.

If you had a bag of gushers you were golden. People used to steal one kid's lunch everyday (or so it seemed), but he always ended up with his pack of Gushers in his possession. By the end of lunch time he had gotten back his entire lunch, an extra sandwich, and another desert. Kids are stupid. Gushers are amazing. Tell you something you don't know, right? There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Ok, you've all heard that before. One pack of Gushers is pretty good as far as free lunches go, if you don't count the work of bartering. These days, well any college days undergrad or beyond, I jump at just about anything involving a "free meal". Sometimes I have to give a tour and other times I listen to a talk I only occasionally care about. The bottom line is ... that meal costs me time. So the meal is not free. There are no free lunches.

These lunches, instead, are better than free. They are net gain. You are being paid for your time. How much does lunch usually run you? If you are buying it at the time and not bringing from home, I would say you are spending 6 bucks minimum most places (at least around us since our only fast food is McDonald's, aka no one goes there). So when you go to these talks or to give a tour you are not getting a free meal. You are basically being given 6-10 dollars for your hour of time.

Factor in the fact that during lunch I am more likely to invent a new gymnastics floor routine for myself than be very productive and I would say that my lunch is much better than free. It is money in my pocket. And food in my tummy.
