If you was wonderin about how I'm doin, baby I'm doin alright

Sometimes when dads coach their own son it works amazingly well. Sometimes it is a really, really bad idea. Sometimes it works out fine and everyone gets to hear the most amazing quotes that would have never been said in any other situation.

When I played soccer as a little kid I generally played goalie. Sometimes I got to run around and score goals. On one of those occasions the coach's son took over my place between the goal posts, His name was Tico. Tico was not your prototypical athlete. He also sucked at soccer. We were only about 10.

So our team won a had fought goal kick and it was up to Tico to kick. He stood there. He eyed the ball. He jogged to it. He stopped. He jogged back. He did this a few times. A few solid defenders got distracted by a butterfly. The ref stood confused ... what could he do?

Then the voice of our coach. Heavenly accented and very loud: "Kick the damn ball Tico!"

Maybe you had to be there, but that shit still makes laugh.

I just laughed out loud. And although it might have been heavenly accented - it was also definitely heavily accented.

That, shockingly was not a typo. The words could not have been spoken better. It was a flawless, heavenly moment.
