The person of the week this week is Myron Cope, better known as the "Voice of the Steelers". I chose him for a very special fact I just recently learned. Mr. Cope invented the "Terrible Towel". Not a huge deal, but kind of cool. Then in 1996 Cope did some thing awesome: he donated the rights to the "Terrible Towel" to the Allegheny Valley School in Coraopolis, PA.
Allegheny Valley School provides care for over 900 individuals with mental retardation and physical disabilities. Since 1996 then the school has been the beneficiary of over $2.5 million from the proceeds.
