Eri Yoshidi is a Japanese baseball player. Professional baseball player. Who is 17 and female.
Yoshidi pitches a side-arm knuckleball. You only throw a knuckle ball about 60 mph and when that pitch is on, it is baffling to try and hit. In her debut she walked a runner, allowed him to steal second base, and struck out the only other batter she faced. The stolen base makes sense, since she throws knuckleballs.
Basically to succeed she needs to keep perfecting the knuckleball, develop a good pickoff move to keep runners near the base, and develop some sort of pitch to keep hitters guessing. Most knuckleballers throw some sort of 80+ mph fastball just to throw off batters. If she can develop that, she will have a chance.
I would write more, but I am too tired to continue without making some sort of wording error that would somehow slip me into an argument about female vs male athletes. I probably just did anyway. Anyone who knows me knows the respect I have for female athletes and that will will be all I say.
