One of the coolest things about our future will be the ability of mapping your own genome and being able to find out what your genes can tell you. Some people would be weirded out if someone looked at them and said "you have a greater risk of cancer because of this thing here" but I would like that. You can get regular check to keep an eye on it if it made you nervous. I cannot wait for this to be affordable and easy.
It is already pretty easy thanks to www.23andme.com, relatively cheap too. If you have $400 to blow. But that price is dropping pretty quickly. I would love to say they will become standard procedure in hospitals in the future, but this is not a perfect world. Some of the information in your genome might indicate a chance of early death which may keep an insurance company from covering you or an employer from hiring and training you. The fact that this would happen is sad, but true. And more than likely will keep these things private and optional.
That being said, they are really cool. Especially if your whole family did them. Maybe wait 5 years and see how much they cost then,

shouldn't it be k-knowledge?
Technically he hits a hard K and breaks it up into an extra syllable so yes. I thought about it too, but decided to just skip it. Sorry Joaq. Great song though.
