The person of the week this week is Ken Griffey, Jr.
"The Kid" will always be remembered for that sweet swing, the amazing catches, and big smile as he cranked home run after home run.
Turns out, everyone playing during that era was on steroids. Yet no one has indicated Griffey. In fact, he got injured the old fashioned way ... making diving catches, slamming into walls, and pulling hamstrings.
Now he is at the end of his career. Gained some weight through the middle and his numbers are in sharp ... sharp decline. He is aging like a regular human being.
I want to thank "The Kid" for being the best baseball player of our generation. One of the all-time greats. Without injuries he would be the new Home Run King ... but that is life. As of right now he is one thing: The best of our generation without steroid allegations.
If he keeps that record for the rest of his life he will truly be baseball's savior. I believe in you Griff ... please have been clean.
